Adidas Gazelle Trainers
Adidas Gazelle trainers are one of the company’s best-selling shoes models – a true icon for Adidas fans all over the world. Still, which was the process that led Adidas Gazelle to the top spots of the sports-loving public for so many years in a row?
The Adidas company was founded in the 1920s by an sports dilettante and superb cobbler named Adolf (Adi) Dassler. Adi’s first owned workshop was located in his mother’s laundry room. This is where he designed and manufactured his first-class, hand-made trainers. Adi used to pop in and out of the gyms; he had first-hand knowledge of each sport's particular conditions, as well as of the challenges faced by athletes and their requirements regarding their sports gear. His obsession was to build the best trainers for each different sport.
It was this very preoccupation of Adi Dassler’s, i.e. to produce shoes made for optimal performance under each particular condition, that led to the manufacturing of Adidas Gazelle trainers. A lightweight, comfortable shoe, destined for indoors training; a shoe that would be able to withstand the harshness of everyday use and workout, without losing its sharp shape and falling apart.
Lightness is one of Adidas Gazelle greatest advantages. When dozens or even hundreds of repetitions exhaust and weigh down on our bodies, a trainer should not add its own weight to the trial. A light shoe is perfect for indoors training, as well as for a long walk.
Durability is one more positive aspect of these trainers. You will be able to wear your Adidas Gazelle for many years in a row. They hold up well under rough wear; you can work out many hours, you can walk for miles, you can be as active as you like:–your Gazelles will retain their form and will not wear out, like many second- and third-class trainers do.
Con: Suede, while quite an enduring material, is nevertheless more delicate than leather in the sense that the color may get damaged or wear off in certain spots due to friction, e.g. with the jeans. This requires wearing the shoes for a pretty long time, though.
One couldn’t say that the Adidas Gazelle trainers are the best for outdoor running – besides, they were not designed for such a purpose. The Gazelles are retro shoes with a low heel and a flat sole, quite different from modern running shoes. However, they offer better arch support than the majority of this kind of trainers.
The sole is rather firm – one more indication that they really are not running shoes. Furthermore, these trainers do not offer enhanced traction, compared with other trainers, since the sole displays a simple pattern of small, indented hexagons. Adidas Gazelle trainers were initially designed for indoors soccer training, played on a rough floor / turf. They still are a great shoe for the gym and for a nice, long walk, but this is as far as they can get.
Adidas Gazelle is a smart trainer and sneaker, and it is well-loved by men, women and kids for its top-notch style and sublime comfort.
